motivate

Dear Friend,

I was reading "On The Art of Writing Copy" By Herschell Gordon Lewis today, and I picked up a few golden nuggets of wisdom. In the first chapter he discuss "is copy form or substance". Within that chapter he reveals "The 5 Great Motivators" to use in order to motivate your readers to take action…

If you write clearly and within the reader’s experiential background, and present benefits based on an appeal to one of these motivators, you simply can’t miss!

Here they are…

1. Fear
2. Exclusivity
3. Guilt
4. Greed
5. Need for approval

I recommend you take action using these motivators in your existing/future sales copy. If you do, you're certain to see great response with your marketing and sales campaigns!

That's all for now. Until next time, continue taking action and making passive residual income.

copywriting

Hello Friend,

When writing copy you must think about ways to maximize readership as much as possible. The reason being — the more people who read your copy the more people who will respond.

Think about it. If readership is so bad to the point where people don't get halfway down your copy, then you're going to see very poor results!

So today I want to show you how you reliable techniques that can increase readership with your sales copy. let's begin…

Headlines and Sub headlines

I made a blog post not too long ago about the importance of headlines. If people don't feel compelled to read your sales copy after reading the headline then you'll get stuck with poor response. So make sure you main headline grabs your reader by the throat and fully commands their attention.

Same thing goes for headlines. Strive to make them as compelling as possible. Having great headlines also helps stop "skimmers" in their tracks. It'll cause them to go back and hopefully start reading from the beginning.

Formatting

The next way to increase readership is by using various styles of formatting. This includes yellow highlight, underlining, bold, italics, etc.

Use formatting when you truly want to emphasize a point to your reader. Whenever a "skimmer" is skimming across your copy, your formatting should stick out to them, and they should be able to understand your message. So even if they don't stop to read they have a good gist of what you're trying to tell them.

Graphic Enhancement

The next way to increase readership is by using graphic images within your sales copy. Don't use just any image to grab attention. You want to make sure that the image enhances your sales message.

Your reader shouldn't be confused on why you used a certain image. The right image will cause readers to stop in their tracks check out the meaning behind the image. Once again this helps slow down "skimmers" into reading your entire sales message, if your graphic image is compelling enough.

Strong P.S.'s

The last technique I'm going to discuss is the concept of having strong P.S.'s. You'll find that many of your prospects "cheat" and don't read from top to bottom. They'll most likely skim through to check out what you're offering, the price, and how much time they have until the offer is closed.

Most of the time they skip right down to the P.S. to find all that information…

That means you should do your best to make strong and compelling P.S.'s. Make sure you restate the best benefits and give a sense of urgency. If done properly, this will cause the reader to want start from the beginning to get the full sales story, so they know everything they need to know before responding!

Well those are a few of my strategies to increase readership. I hope you can take these readership techniques and use them successfully with your existing/future sales copy.

Until next time, continue taking action and making passive residual income! Also feel free to leave a comment if you enjoyed this post, or have something you like to add that will further the discussion.

The #1 Way To Eliminate Sales Resistance

money in your pocket

Hello Friend,

Let me share with you an interesting story…

Back in 2007 when I was a door to door salesman for AT&T, I used to deal with many hostile people.

Nobody really wants to be bothered by the salesman at the door. But obviously I couldn't have that attitude otherwise I wouldn't make money…

I've seen every negative response available when it came to door to door selling. experience such as getting verbally abused, the door slammed in my face, and pranks that people thought were funny to play…

Of course not all people were like that, but you never forget the extremes that  people through just to say "no".

After awhile I started telling my adventures of being a salesman to my prospects. I would tell them why I was drenched with water when I knocked on their door "Yea some old guy thought it would be cool to open the door and squirt a watergun at me. Thank god it's the summer time!"

How Telling Stories Increased My Sales!

It was when I told these humorous and adventurous stories that I started getting more sign ups for At&t. I noticed that my prospect would be more relaxed around me and they felt like they knew, liked, and trusted me.

Some thanked me for liven up their day and felt compelled to sign up with me becuase I made them feel good…

So fast forward to year 2009… Now I'm a student of print persuasion and if you haven't noticed, copywriting is like doing face-to-face selling. Except you don't have the prospect in front of you.

But I've taken my story telling strategy into print selling and it has done wonders for me.  Just like I was able to melt sales resistance of my prospects during my door-to-door days, I found the same to be true with print selling.

Now I always tell a story with my sales letter. According to Joe Sugarman, a world-renowned master copywriter of  blublocker sunglassess, he states…

"People love stories, and one of the really good ways to relate to your audience is to tell a story. Just as a picture is worth a thousands words, a story can be invaluable and often provides an emotional relationship that keeps the reader riveted and reading"

So essentially by telling a story you can effectively sell your product, create the environment or get the reader well into your copy as you create an emotional bonding with your prospect…

And eliminate as much sales resistance as possible!

How To Become A Better Story Teller So You Can Start Making More Profits With Your Copywriting!

If you're not so great of a story teller there are a few ways you can improve. First way is to start telling more stories. Whenever you get a chance to relate with someone, don't just make a statement… tell a story to relate instead… You'll see that people relate to you much more when you do that…

Another way to improve your storytelling skills is to read more books. Books that are New York Times Best-Sellers are great books to pick up and read. They wouldn't be best sellers if the book didn't have an amazing story. But reading these kind of books you can learn how a great story is constructed, then you can add it into your story telling skills!

If you use those two methods then you'll definetely improve your storytelling. It's one of the best skills you can have with it comes to copywriting.

So if you're an aspiring copywriter or just want to make your sales and marketing more effective then start using stories with your efforts. I'm positive you'll see a bigger, more profitable response :)

Until next time, Continue taking action and making passive residual income!
