I've been sorting through my copywriting books from Dan Kennedy to Joe Sugarman to Randy Gage, and so on. And the one thing you'll note when you study the master copywriters is that the headline is extremely important towards your sales letter's success.

I've come to learn the hard  on how important headlines are…

God knows how much money I've lost due to having poor headlines…

When I first started out I remember I barely took the time to craft my headline. Whatever popped into my head at the time was the headline I went with.

That was a costly mistake on my part. But as I studied different copywriter resources I got schooled pretty quick on the importance of compelling headlines!

If your headline doesn't catch the eyes of your prospect they won't read the rest of the sales letter! You essentially have to sell your prospect on reading the sales letter within your headline.

Here's How To Write A Compelling Headline

So when you're crafting your headline for a sales letter think about your prospect being distracted from all angles. Maybe they have their children wanting attention, the TV or radio is blaring, their pet dog is barking crazily outside… Imagine your prospect with a limited attention span…

Now that you have that image you need to craft your headline in a way that all those distraction take a backseat! When your prospect reads that headline it needs to hit them so hard that they simply can't refuse to read your letter.

When you write your headlines like that you'll find more people get invested in your copy. And when that happens you get more people to take your most wanted response. Whether that's making a sale, acquiring a client, opting into a list,etc.
